Version 2 users can continue to use V2 if that is your preference -- just sign into http://oaktreesim.com/MicromaticV2.
But we think the enhancement we made to V3 make this the time for you to make the change. We think you will agree.
Version 4 differences from Version 2
In addition to the new features added to Version 3, as described above, for Version 2 users, Micromatic V4’s new features include:
- Updated cost structure to reflect current economy.
- New wage rates for production workers and sales reps.
- Overtime pay rate for production workers.
- Cost to transfer sales reps.
- New sub-contracting costs.
- Finished goods transfer costs.
- Cost of new plant construction.
- New default sales prices to reflect cost changes.
- Addition of China as a potential sales region (Region 3).
- Option to set Europe as your home base of operations (Regions 1 and 2).
- Starting plant capacity is 16,000 units (vs. 18,000 units in V2).
- Production workers = 48 (vs. 54 workers in V2).
- Region 3 is all zeros (0) in Q0. This allows you the option of beginning the game operating only in Regions 1 and 2, adding R3 in a later quarter, or including R3 in Q1.
- V4 Supported Browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer 8
You are still able to:
- Monitor your students’ activity level as they work with Micromatic.
- Write Bulletins in advance and choose the quarter in which you want them automatically sent to your students.
- Make cost changes to all companies or to selected companies in the industry.
- Easily send an email to selected students, teams, or to the whole class.
- Track company performance by quarter.
- Use our "Charts Galore" for visual presentation of company/industry results.
- Access our Instructor Support Materials that include quizzes, assignments, and video tutorials
